Usage Panel

A complete redesign of the Neverbounce Usage Panel, turning a confusing credit dashboard into a clear, user-friendly experience that explains credit status, expiration, and verification results. Designed and developed entirely by me, the new panel improves transparency, reduces billing issues, and introduces a helpful path to Auto Refill that drives both trust and revenue.

Introduction

I led the entire redesign of this panel and also built the full front end myself. The goal was to simplify the experience, improve transparency, reduce confusion, and introduce helpful upgrade opportunities that actually solve user pain points.

The Usage Panel is where admins monitor credit consumption, understand how their verification activity behaves, and catch risks that could lead to unexpected charges. The previous version was outdated, unclear, and filled with complex terminology that confused users.

TL;DR

I redesigned the Usage Panel and built the full front end myself, turning a confusing dashboard into a clear and reliable credit management tool. The new experience reduced billing related support tickets by 20 percent and increased Auto Refill enrollments by 15 percent, showing how solving real user pain creates both trust and growth.

Impact

  • 25% decrease in support tickets related to billing confusion and unexpected charges
  • 15% increase in Auto Refill enrollments after launch
  • Higher transparency and confidence for admins monitoring credits
  • Less friction, more trust, and improved long term retention

My Role

I was responsible for the entire redesign of the Usage Panel and also built the complete front end myself. Using Vibe Coding and coding agents, I developed the interface directly inside the product’s git repo.

I collaborated closely with backend engineers, defined the required API responses, and delivered a fully functioning front end, which reduced the engineering workload by 50 percent and accelerated the project timeline.

Problem

  • The old panel used vague metrics and confusing terms
  • No breakdown of how credits were used or which tools consumed them
  • No credit experation logic
  • No clear understanding of verification results or data quality
  • Surprise billing and unexplained usage spikes created frustration
  • No natural place to introduce Auto Refill
  • Outdated UI that did not match the rest of the product

Goals

  • Make credit usage simple and understandable at a glance
  • Help users identify expiration risks or extreme usage
  • Break down credit consumption in a way that makes sense
  • Add upsell moments that feel helpful rather than forced
  • Reduce billing related support tickets
  • Give users full visibility and control

The Solution

Clear overview of credits - The new panel shows total credits, safe credits, credits about to expire, and the exact expiration date. Users finally have clarity on their balance.

Visualization of verification results - A new pie chart shows how credits were used and the quality of the emails scanned, such as valid, disposable, and unknown. This helps users understand value and performance at a glance.

Breakdown per tool - The panel now shows how each Neverbounce tool consumed credits. This helps users detect unusual behavior or integrations that may be malfunctioning.

Detection of extreme usage - The design makes spikes in consumption easy to spot, helping users catch issues before they become expensive.

Auto Refill enrollment - A clear Auto Refill toggle gives users peace of mind and reduces workflow interruptions. This also creates a natural upsell aligned with user needs.

Old vs New

Old: A minimal, confusing graph with no explanations, no breakdowns, and no meaningful guidance.

New: A modern, clear, and informative usage dashboard showing credits, expiration, verification results, tool level consumption, and a simple path to Auto Refill. The redesign reduces stress and gives users full control over their spending.
